Recent projects include focusing on the use of technology to reduce the rate in fall accidents, to help promote mobility and independence and to enhance lives by connecting residents with social media.

He co-founded the Business Information Portal, (“The BIP”), a business publication for the West Midlands and the West Midlands Open Data Forum, a group that feeds directly into Birmingham’s digital and smart city agenda. She has also worked on a number of corporate finance transactions including rights issues, due diligence projects for acquisitions and listings on the LSE and AIM markets. She has worked on and successfully delivered multi million pound projects and audit assignments.

CEO of Westfield Sportscars, Westfield has sold over 15 000 cars world-wide since 1983, and currently produce over 400 cars a year for driving enthusiasts the world over. Julian is a qualified PRINCE2 project manager and chartered engineer. He was appointed Managing Director in 2006 with a strong vision: To be the first choice sportscar provider and one of the world’s most admired niche vehicle manufacturers. In June 2009 Westfield became the first Niche Vehicle Manufacturer to be awarded European Small Series Production Status with the new land mark Sport Turbo. Utilising the VXR 1.6 GM Engine and new lightweight design chassis production of the vehicle started with immediate unprecedented orders from Europe. Launch of the IRacer at Geneva Motor Show 2010 saw Westfield move into the Electric vehicle market utilising some advanced materials for components of the vehicle.

He now deals primarily with patent and design matters in a wide range of technical fields. Russell has particular expertise in obtaining patent protection for computer software inventions. In this work, Russell represents clients operating in a number of different fields ranging from process control systems to cloud computing technology. Russell has and continues to work with a number of start-up companies and advise them on how to best harness and exploit their intellectual property. Russell has extensive experience working directly with the UK and European Patent Offices, as well as handling the prosecution of patent and design applications throughout the world – with particular experience in the US, China, India, Australia, and Japan.

Currently works for Coventry University Enterprises Ltd as a Business Advisor. Jay previously lead projects such as West Midlands Mobile and Wireless and Technology Networks which provides a range of services and expertise for small and medium-sized enterprises in the development and application of advanced technologies particularly around smart cities, as well as encouraging inward-investment and participation by major technology-based organisations. Jay is now part of the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) programme and specialises in the ICT sector. Jay offers support and services to organisations within the Midlands region whom are looking to develop technical or research partnerships in Europe to pilot and demonstrate smart city projects and initiatives. His services are specifically designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) but are also available to other organisations such as research centres, science parks and universities across the midlands region.

Charlotte is a Partner at Eversheds and Head of the UK TMT Sector. Charlotte specialises in non-contentious IT law covering outsourcing, software and hardware agreements, services agreements, IT marketing agreements, e-commerce, data protection, and legal aspects of IT security. Charlotte has acted on a number of major transactions for both private and public sector clients, including: negotiating and drafting a global sales agreement for a leading technology vendor for global sales worth $180m with one of their top ten customers; advising Cisco Systems on various sales and technology and licensing agreements over a number of years, advising Siemens plc and Siemens Enterprise Communications Limited on various technology and commercial agreements assisting in drafting and negotiating contracts for a major UK bank and its subsidiary companies for their internet share dealing facilities. Charlotte is the resident legal author to and committee member of the British Computer Society – Information Security Specialist Group. She has also written a large number of articles for and given interviews to the local and national press. She has contributed to two guides on IT security, including the IBM/CBI business guide to ‘Protecting Your Business‘.
